Peter Tradnik
He attended the Petroșani Middle School of Music, studying piano with professors Cristina Fenici and Natalia Amarie. He is a graduate of the “Sigismund Toduță” Art High School in Deva, where he studied piano with Doina Ona. In 2023, he completed his master’s studies at the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the West University of Timișoara, where he studied piano in the class of Prof. Univ. Dr. habil. Manuela Mihăilescu. He is currently an associate lecturer and a doctoral candidate at the same institution.
Since 2022, he has been a piano teacher at the “Ion Vidu” Art High School in Timișoara, and since 2024 he has been an associate lecturer at the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the West University of Timișoara.
He has an extensive activity both pedagogically and as a performer, giving numerous solo recitals as well as concerts in chamber music ensembles, both in Romania and abroad (Romania, Hungary, the Republic of Moldova, and Germany). Among his projects as a concerto soloist, his collaborations with masters such as Peter Oschanitzky, Cristian Spătaru, and Sebastian Felea stand out.
Peter Tradnik has participated in numerous masterclasses given by prestigious musical figures such as Josu de Solaun, Carmen-Daniela Gililov, Eva Pap Zsigmond, Zhihua Tang, Alfredo Ovalles, Christian Zhang, Reinis Zariņš, Miguel Ángel Laiz, and many others.
He is the winner of the YMFE – Bucharest 2020 competition (Yamaha Music Foundation Europe) and a laureate of numerous international piano competitions.
As part of his doctoral studies, Peter is deepening and researching post-Romantic music, with a particular interest in the work of composer Nikolai Medtner. His most recent solo recitals have been conceptual projects in this direction (“Medtner vs. Brahms”; “Echoes of the Romantic in the 20th Century”).
